Ms. Lee Anne Bache, President
Lee Anne Bache earned her Masters of English from Indiana University where she taught composition, literature, and professional writing courses for over a decade. Ms Bache also co-lead the writing portion of IU's Groups Scholars Program, aimed at increasing attendance among first-generation, underrepresented students. In addition to IU, Ms Bache has taught at DePauw University, Ivy Tech Community College, and Xavier University. Ms. Bache is currently an active volunteer with the Girls Scouts of the Nation's Capital, as well as acting as President of the Board of TCSYO.
Mr. Jonathan Lund, Treasurer
Jonathan Lund is a corporate attorney with experience in regulatory compliance and privacy law. In his free time he is an avid theater-goer and supporter of the arts. Mr. Lund has served as TCSYO'S treasurer since 2022.
Ms. Allison Devereux, Secretary
Ms. Allison Devereux, a Virginia native, began her cello studies at age 10 in the Prince William County Public Schools 5th grade strings program. She graduated from James Madison University with a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education. While at JMU, she studied cello with Dr. Carl Donakowski and performed in the Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra, and Camerata Strings under the direction of Dr. Robert McCashin.
Allison was named Director of Orchestras at Herndon High School in 2021. She has proudly been a part of the Herndon community since 2008, having taught for 13 years at Dranesville Elementary and 9 years at Clearview Elementary. She is a co-director of the Reston-Herndon Area Orchestra, an after school ensemble of elementary musicians that performs at the South Lakes and Herndon Orchestra pyramid concerts. In March 2020, Allison adjudicated Orchestra Concert Assessment in VBODA District II. Allison was a nominee for Dranesville Elementary’s Outstanding Teacher (2020-2021), and is the recipient of JMU’s Dr. Alice M. Hammel Inclusion in Music Education Award (2019), the Fairfax Orchestra Directors Association Elementary Teacher of the Year (2019-2020), and a Wolf Trap Grant for High School Performing Arts Teachers (2022) which supported a two day artist residency at Herndon with bassist Xavier Foley. Allison is encouraged to see that orchestra students at Herndon have increased their presence in the community by volunteering at elementary school concerts and performing at in school and local events. Collaborations with other performing arts disciplines have included performing selections from The Messiah by Handel with Herndon Choir and participating in Fiddler on the Roof with Herndon Theatre, earning a Cappie nomination for Pit Orchestra in 2024.
Allison maintains a cello studio in her Ashburn home. Her students consistently receive Superior scores at their respective Solo and Ensemble Festivals, are members of local youth orchestras, and successfully audition for honors ensembles in Fairfax and Loudoun counties. She also regularly substitutes with the Maestra Ensemble, performing at weddings around the greater metro D.C. area. In her free time, she enjoys rooting for the home teams, reading, and spending time with her family.
Mr. Robert Gaylord, Member At Large
Robert (Bob) E. Gaylord is a retired U.S. Army General Officer and former President and CEO of both a social sector leadership development organization based in New York and an IT services company in Northern Virginia.
Deeply involved in his community, Bob has held leadership roles including President of the Lake Braddock Secondary School PTSA, the Lake Braddock Orchestra Boosters, and the Burke Estates Homeowners Association. He currently serves as Quartermaster for the local Veterans of Foreign Wars and sits on the board of the Braddock Road Youth Club.
A dedicated ultra-marathoner, Bob also volunteers as a youth coach for basketball and soccer conditioning.
Mr. David Whiting, Member At Large
David Whiting is a long-standing TCSYO parent and supporter. In his spare time, Mr. Whiting is the founder and principal at the Oak Hill Law Group where he represents clients in estate planning and administration, trial advocacy, business law, and special education law. Mr. Whiting is also a Special Justice in the 20th Judicial Circuit of Virginia, and he is a skilled mediator. If cornered, he can whip up a decent pot of chili.
