Who We Are

The Capitol Symphonic Youth Orchestras (TCSYO) is a youth orchestra based in Fairfax, VA. It started in 2010 as a small summer camp founded by Dr. Cheri Collins and her husband, Mr. Michael Czuczor. Since then, we have grown to include five Orchestras at varying abilities, offering a place for all musicians. Prelude Orchestra, Concert Orchestra, String Ensemble, and Chamber Orchestra are Strings only (violin, viola, cello, and bass). Symphonic Orchestra includes harp, wind, brass, and percussion instruments. Percussionists also have the opportunity to be a member of the percussion ensemble.

We offer a Chamber Music program for students in String Ensemble, Chamber Orchestra, and Symphonic Orchestra. Chamber music is a form of classical music composed for a small group of musicians, each with their own part to play. These students meet for an hour before their orchestra rehearsal and receive coachings from Mr. Kenneth Law.

Members of the Symphonic Orchestra are also eligible to participate in our annual Concerto Competition.
