Music Education Internship
TCSYO is proud to sponsor a Music Educator Internship program! The internship is offered to a high school senior who has indicated their intent to enter the field of music education upon graduation. This senior will work closely with Concert Orchestra and Mrs. Herrera throughout the season, focusing on rehearsal techniques, lesson planning, conducting, score study, sectionals, and classroom management. At no time will the intern and Concert Orchestra students be left unsupervised.

Introducing our 2026-2027 Intern:
Azita Hughlett
Azita Hughlett is a senior at Lake Braddock Secondary School and a cellist in both Lake Braddock's Symphony Orchestra and TCSYO's Symphonic Orchestra. This will be her 3rd year performing with TCSYO.
Azita is currently enrolled in the Teachers for Tomorrow 2 Honors course and, upon completion, will receive a recruitment contract guaranteeing a teaching job with FCPS. She previously completed the Teachers for Tomorrow 1 Honors course and has gained hands-on experience by interning in elementary strings classes. Azita also serves as co-president of Lake Braddock's Educators Rising Club.
This year, Azita looks forward to serving as a TCSYO music education intern while preparing to pursue a degree in music education after graduation.
